Cultural evidences of greek Catania, the archaeological exhibition will be inaugurated today, Friday, June 16 at 6 p.m.
Organized by the Regional and Interdisciplinary Archaeological Pole of the Metropolitan City of Catania in the building where itself is located (partly owned by the Sicilian Region and partly owned by BellAqua), and by the Institute for Archaeological and Monumental Heritage of the National Research Council (Ibam Cnr), the exhibition traces through ceramic and terracotta memorabilia (vases, busts and small sculptures) the history of the greek city of Katane from the beginning of the 6th to the 3rd century BC.
The evidences were mostly found in the votive deposit of St. Francis square and they are enriched by relics from various excavations carried out in the past in the urban area as well as three sculptures borrowed from the Civic Museum of Castello Ursino
