If you speak with a stranger Italian wine lover he will remember three regions before all the other: Tuscany, Piedmont and Sicily. These are the three areas often mentioned for the first time. If to many of you the first two regions may seem taken for granted, others may be wondering why Sicily.

Well, Sicily is one of the most loved italian regions. It has an atavic charm, which enchant anyone, moreover, in “italian California“, as many foreigners call it for some similarities, we find wonderful and charming wines
Sensual whites and red wines are part of the sicilian local cuisine which unites, not by chance, some wonderful local courses. Do not believe, however, that Sicily is home to only red and heavy wines. Sicily has changed its way to vinification and, if once, the production was constant on strong wines, today described as heavy and sikly wines, we now find, however, modern wines that respect the territory, fruity wines, with sensual spicy flavors and, above all, easy to drink. In addition, we find wines of impalpable charm, where fragility is strength, with subtle and complex scents.
The territory that reflects these features is the Etna area. It’s just here that you can find such peculiarities. Nerello Mascalese, Nerello Cappuccio, Carricante and Catarratto are the undisputed protagonists of this area: Etna Rosso DOC and Etna Bianco DOC. Unique, ancient, indigenous and territorial grape-vines. Vineyards embrace the Etna volcano, an area of high vocation, that has underestimated, which today gains more and more experts and enthusiasts.
It was not a mystery to the men of the early twentieth century that, at the foot of the volcano, the grape-vine, delivered, in the hands of man, fruits of inestimable value. The peculiarity of volcanic soils and of microclimate characterized by strong temperature ranges fix important scents in grapes. The wines produced in this area bear the label of “Etna DOC” and, if the Nerello Mascalese and the Nerello Cappuccio give origins to reds of absolute finesse, the Carricante, is used to make white wine with a particular sapidity that collects all the scents of the near sea
